Method 1
- Search box
- Upgrade title - apprentice x 2 > White mage > Bishop > Water Master
- at Prayer Bench - place Oak Stick and pray to upgrade it
- unequip stick and dagger (!)
- ice shield
- bless
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack x5
- unequip stick
- cure
- ice shield
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack x3
- unequip stick
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack x4
- unequip stick
- cure
- ice shield
- equip stick
- attack till boss is dead
Method 2 - I couldn't get this to work, but a slightly different order worked for me. It relies on Icicle lasting 3 rounds and ice shield healing for 50
- Search box
- Upgrade title - apprentice x 2 > White mage > Bishop > Water Master
- at Prayer Bench - place Oak Stick and pray to upgrade it
- unequip stick and dagger (!)
- Disenchant Dagger and learn Water Master if you didn't have enough EP previously
- icicle
- bless
- equip stick
- attack x5
- unequip stick
- cure
- ice shield
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack x5
- unequip stick
- cure
- ice shield
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack x4
Method 3 - The above two methods no longer work as you cannot disenchant either the dagger or the stick, which leaves you short on EP for getting both Water Master and Apprentice x 2. Using the method below, the Trial can be completed without upgrading the dagger or stick. Note that with Pupeteer at 4, only had 20 EP to spare.
- Search box
- Upgrade title - Apprentice > White Mage > Bishop > Water Master
- Ice Shield
- Bless
- Icicle
- Equip dagger.
- Attack
From this point you simply keep attacking while keeping Ice Shield, Bless, and Icicle up. Unequip dagger when casting the spells to save some HP. Use Cure after your Ice Shields have run out as needed. Once Sage boss reaches around 500 HP, you can switch to the oak stick to finish him off quickly.
