Method 1
- Search box
- Upgrade title - apprentice x 2 > White mage > Bishop > Water Master
- at Prayer Bench - place Oak Stick and pray to upgrade it
- unequip stick and dagger (!)
- ice shield
- bless
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack x5
- unequip stick
- cure
- ice shield
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack until boss loses control immunity
- unequip stick
- icicle
- equip stick
- attack x4

- attack till boss is dead

- Search box
- Upgrade title - Apprentice > White Mage > Bishop > Water Master
- Ice Shield
- Bless
- Icicle
- Equip dagger.
- Attack
From this point you simply keep attacking while keeping Ice Shield, Bless, and Icicle up. Unequip dagger when casting the spells to save some HP. Use Cure after your Ice Shields have run out as needed. Once Sage boss reaches around 500 HP, you can switch to the oak stick to finish him off quickly.
Method 4 - If you have enough EP, this is a very simple way to do the trial.
- Search the box
- Titles: Magic Apprentice 2*, White Mage 1*, Bishop 1*, Water Master 1*
- If the stick was automatically equipped, unequip it
- Use the altar to purify the stick, then equip it
- Bless, attack boss until Bless runs out
- Ice Shield
- Cure if needed
- Attack boss until the counter is on 1
- Icicle
- Attack boss until the Icicle debuff wears off
- Repeat Ice Shield, Cure, attack, Icicle until the boss dies
