  • Hi Azure, Please check the last several steps of Fallen Angel Trial Method 3. I used it 4 times and wasn't able to get all dark with 6-1 and 5 on the elementals. I made some edits for clarification, but could not pass.

    • While unwritten, all trials assume the gumball is 20/20 with 5* weapon. Have you ensured your gumball is maxed?

        Loading editor
    • Yes, I maxed on everything on the Fallen Angel. After 4 attempts, I used the second method without any problems. Is there a missing step?

  • Are you sure ? Because I tried 8-10 times to have it at level 1 and failed, I tried once at level 2 and had it. That's a lot of bad luck if it doesn't require level 2.

  • Those 'nowiki' tags in hell frontier were there for a good reason: |+ means "as table title"

By the way, why change all the <b> into ''' ? I tend to think that the b tag is clearer when editing as you don't have to count and it doesn't become a mess if you have "'" characters in there...

    • Zurgat does that a lot. Just make sure yall get along. ;)

Personally i prefer ''' over <b> because it's wiki style (and saves a character on the ending), but it's very true that there's a mix going on here and there. If anything ; is an even better option since it creates a bold heading without needing any quotes. and double brackets on a name that's the same as the page name will automatically bold it as well.

the ==content with or without spaces is a matter of taste rather than style, and not one that has impact on anything other than the slightest of file size differences.

You're both on discord - feel free to have a drunken knife fight there later, or bet on some monkeys to do it for you ^_^

And yea, nobody in their right mind uses the visual editor.

    • I'm sorry if I come of as hostile. Truth is I'm trying to understand and avoid edition wars. We are adding lots of contents to the wiki and it would be stupid to compromise that because we disagree on a few things. Wikis are kind of an exercise in organised anarchy...

  • Hi, I'll have to create cropped (and probably sharpened) icons versions for the images you modified. If we use the uncropped version, simply changing the size of the display won't work I think because it will increase the space between the rows of text.

    • I certainly agree there. That's why I swapped to the official icons in the first place. On a high-rez display, the 50x40s were becoming so ill-defined that detail was being lost. And if you look at how the official Guild Wars 2 wiki handles in-line icons, you'll know I agree about icon usage improving pages significantly. ^_^

So I was hoping the crops I sent you would be a decent compromise.

  • Please, don't be dogmatic with that. The main purpose of the wiki is to offer added value compared to what can be found in game. If the in-game description of an effect is wrong or ambiguous or hard to understand, the wiki should correct that. Fidelity to the exact in-game text is nice for cosmetic descriptions but at best secondary if not outright futile for descriptions of practical effects. For instance, to use "Mechanic" gumball in the Nuke Missile effect is, imho, not a good idea, even with a link and redirect. It means that anyone confused by the in-game or in-wiki description remains confused unless he thinks about following the link.

    • Yeah consistency will be nice. Categories arent quite as important as the actual pages, but they make maintenance oh so very much easier for the future. We'd need the list of the actual slot names to go by.

Since the templates use type to auto-categorize, they go hand in hand. And a Standards and Practices guide, as you brought up earlier in this train, might help, if a concensus can be reached on anything.

An alternative, {{item}} could be adjusted to have a new "slot" parameter. Type would then have "Equipment" as a control in the same regard as "Soul", "Runestone", etc., as well as "Consumable" and the like, and Slot would then be as simple as naming the slot (belt, hand, armor, head, title, neck, ring, back, foot, special (bag, non-equip, etc.) and each slot could then be qualified with static categories (Belts, Hand Equipment, Armor, Head Equipment, Title Equipment or Adventurer's Gear, Neck Equipment, Rings, Back Items or Back Equipment, Foot Equipment, Trinkets).

  • Thanks for the Photos thing. I think it would be simpler to have a photo type for the ones with a specific description. Either "custom" or maybe "very clear" as I think they all have that assessment in the first part of their description. I don't know if all the photos with custom description have the same icon or not.

    • There are definitely uniques that cover both clear and art icons, but I don't know about their descriptions. I believe the boss of Saint's Tower auto-drops a unique art photo, but I'm both out of vigor and gems at the moment and can't confirm.

    • Ah well, if customs photos have different pictures then we might indeed as well leave the phototype blank.
